Dr. Udayana Hegde is working as Assistant Professor in the National Samskrit University, Tirupati since 2020. Before that he started his career as Research Assistant in Karnataka Samskrit University, Bengaluru in 2013.  He studied Vyakarana Shastra under Vidwan G Mahabaleshwara Bhat (Recipient of the Presidents Certificate of Honour : 2015), author of many famous Samskrit books in Samskrit Vyakarana like Sandhi, Samasa, Karakam etc., and Vidwan Sri S.T. Nagaraja (Recipient of the Presidents Certificate of Honour : 2016) in Sri Chamarajendra Samskrit College, Bengaluru and completed his Masters (Vidwat Uttama) in Vyakarana. Later he joined the prestigious Campus of the Rashtriya Samskrit Samsthan, Sringeri to study Navya Nyaya Shastra. There he studied Nyaya Shastra under Dr. V. Naveena Holla (Disciple and Dear Student of H.H. Sri Bharateeteertha Swamiji, Dakshinamnaya Sri Sharada Peetham, Sringeri), Dr. O.R. Vijaya Raghavan and Vidwan Anantakrishna and completed Masters (Acharya) in Navya Nyaya Shastra.

He is the first in the recent times amongst the Samskrit Speaking Children with Samskrit as Mother Tongue. He is enlisted & recognized in creative Samskrit writers in India. He Has been a frequent speaker in various International and National Seminars/Conferences. He has many Research Papers and Articles to his credit. He is Tech Savvy about the happenings in the Samskrit field especially related to the ICT and Samskrit. He is updated along with the contemporary Social media like Twitter, Facebook etc., and is using Social Media as a tool in Propagating Samskrit. He was recently awarded with “Prof. M Hiriyanna Samskrit Book Award – 2016” by Karnataka Samskrit University for his book – “Bhāratasya ātmoddhārakāḥ Syāma”
